A Little of What's Been Going On...

Wow. Where has the year gone?! It's back to school already and that means Carolynn is starting school. I realized that I hadn't reached out to you guys in awhile so I wanted to take some time, say hello, and give you some updates.

We started off the year VERY rocky. I am going to breakdown a few updates for us, theres quite a bit that I can't share because it's not really my place, but as always thank you for all your prayers, well wishes, support and more.

Camden

Camden started the year with puking 17 days out of a little over a month and so we underwent pretty extensive testing to figure out what was going on. Turns out - he has some pretty serious allergies.

Flaxseed

Dairy

Oats

Barley

Eggs

Because... who needs to eat normal food, right? LOL. Since cutting out all of these, the most important one being flaxseed due to the severity of his allergy - the puking has stopped - hallelujah!

Not only did we get his allergies under control, but we switched him to a new daycare and he is THRIVING in the new facility. Before we know it he will be two - which isn't possible because I swear I JUST had him.

Carolynn

Our wild child - she turned 5 this year. Through these last two years, we noticed her emotions getting, well, bigger and bigger. Temper tantrums that would last hours, running from us when she is angry, screaming hysterically - and on a basically daily basis. We started her mental health journey fighting for care for her to be taken seriously. After several specialists, multiple different doctors, and hours of research and Occupational Therapy - we are looking at a highly severe ADHD diagnosis with ODD and possibly some sensory things going on. We've been working hard to find ways to stay connected (and sane) through all the meltdowns and screaming. She LOVES to dance and sing, she is incredibly intelligent and has energy for days. I can't wait to watch her grow and thrive in school.

Shane

This year, Shane has faced a ton of changes, as well. He started a new job after nearly 9 years at his previous employer. So far, the change seems to be a really positive one both for him and for our family. After seeing the struggles that our daughter was going through, my husband decided to start digging deeper into his mental health, and through some screening and testing was also diagnosed with ADHD. We have been focusing on our marriage, finding tools that help couples where ADHD is present, and continue to grow in our faith and love for one another.

Lexie

Last but certainly not least - me. The creator behind the scenes. To say that this year has more than taken it's toll on me would be an understatement. Between advocating for the kids, advocating and pushing for Shane, I have been left feeling overwhelmed, drained, and anxious. I have been working with my doctor and lost over 30 pounds, going to the gym more regularly, and trying to find time to be me --and not just mom/wife. As I like to say *surviving* but not necessarily *thriving* in this season.

I hope that this little glimpse into this year isn't too negative - but it has been BEYOND a tough season. Shane and I did get to sneak away for a bit to Scotland - my favorite place in the world and we've been connecting more intentionally and I've been a little further away from content creation. We've dove deeper into our faith and been weathering the storm that has been 2025.

I've been working on some series coming for you guys but for now, please stay tuned and thank you for supporting The Undem Family Adventures!
